Experience Matters
If you have suffered a permanent impairment as a result of a workplace accident, the attorney you choose is important. You need an attorney that knows how to effectively manage your case. Our attorneys have more than 40 years of combined legal experience and have handled thousands of workers' compensation and personal injury claims.
If retained to handle your case, we will work diligently to get you to a doctor of the correct specialty who can provide appropriate care and provide an expert opinion that will assist in the development of your case. We will take time to understand the nature of your injuries and will guide you so you do not settle too quickly or accept an unfair settlement offer. We are passionate advocates that aggressively pursue maximum compensation on behalf of each client we serve.
How Does it Work?
Injuries causing permanent impairment are classified in two categories in the Delaware worker's compensation system. Certain workplace injuries are considered scheduled losses. These injuries include, but are not limited to, the hand, arm, foot, leg, and fingers. The value depends on the body part that is injured and the degree to which it is impaired, determined by a percentage of loss.
Other injuries, such as a back injury, are classified as non-scheduled injuries and are those which our legislature could not fairly assign a definite number of weeks of compensation as opposed to "scheduled losses", which are assigned a definite number of weeks of compensation. It is particularly important, in these cases, to have an experienced attorney who will pursue the best possible result on your behalf. We have successfully helped many clients obtain sizable awards for scheduled and non-scheduled injuries to the back, neck, spinal cord, arms, and legs. We have also obtained awards for the following non-scheduled loss body parts: teeth; jaw; tongue; taste; smell; lungs; stomach; bowel; bladder; sexual organ; sexual function; abdominal wall; diaphragm; vestibular system; skin; brain; spleen; and uterus.
We are ready to put our knowledge and experience to work for you. We understand that the work we do has a profound impact on the lives of our clients and their families. When we take a case, we do so with an understanding of what is at stake and a deep sense of commitment to the people we serve.
